Create Secure Flash Partition on USB Drives

How to Password Protect my Secure Capable Partition?

You must first create the secure capable partition if you have not done so already. If you need to create the secure capable partition, please refer to our guide. Next, in the public partition, there should be an application UDPV265.exe. (If you do not have the application in your public partition, please download it from our website and copy the application to your public partition as you will need it to access the secure partition once password is activated.)

1. Double click on the Application to activate the software.

2. Once activated, the following dialog box will appear. If the password is not activated, it will show Password Status as "No" and Device Status as "Unlocked".

3. Click on the "Set Password" button and another dialog box will appear asking to enter password.

4. Enter the desired password in both of the password. If you are changing password, you must enter your old password in order to set your new password. Once the desired password is entered (entering Password Hint is optional although recommended so users do not forget), you may hit the "Apply" button.

5. Your Secure Partition should now be ready to be used. The password is activated and the partition will be locked automatically after it is removed from the USB port.

Now that you have set and enabled the Password protection, the secure partition will be locked and will be inaccessible. The system will think that it does not have access to disk and will ask you to insert disk as shown below.

At this point, only the F: drive, the public partition, is accessible. Within F, you should find the application USBV265.exe just as shown on the first picture on the top. Double clock on it to activate the application and the following dialog box will appear.

As you see, the Password Status has changed to "Yes" and the Device Status has changed to "Locked". This means that the secure partition is currently locked as the password protection is activated. You have two options:

  1. Unlock – This option will unlock the secure partition for this current use.
  2. Disable Password – This will disable the password for current and future use.
Both options will require the entering of the correct password to disable the password protection and activate the secure partition for access.

Warning – Please Note: Entering the wrong password 6 times in a row enable the failsafe to activate and format the drive completely causing you to loose all of your data.
